Every shipment that clears Mexican customs carries a DODA — the document that authorises dispatch. Its status changes without warning, and the only way to know is to open the SAT portal and check. Customs agents and freight forwarders do that dozens of times a day, per shipment, by hand.

DODO MX does the checking. You register an integration number once and the platform polls the SAT every five minutes, adapting its rhythm to how active the document is, and tells you the moment anything changes.

Notifications arrive by email and browser push on every plan, and by WhatsApp on Pro — which matters, because the people who need to know are usually on a phone at a terminal, not at a desk.

Two decisions shaped the product more than the tracking itself. The first is a public read-only link per DODA, so a client, a shipping line or an agent can watch the same status without an account — the question "where is it" stops being a phone call. The second is a direct handoff back to the SAT portal with the data already filled in, because the official system is still where certain steps have to happen, and pretending otherwise would have made the tool a dead end.

It ships free with a Pro tier for higher volume, WhatsApp alerts and full history, and a Business tier that adds multiple users, an API and integrations with the CRM, ERP and chat tools these teams already run on.

The interesting part of building it was not the polling. It was working out how little the tool should try to replace — customs software fails when it tries to own a process that legally lives somewhere else.
